Why This Project Exists

We wanted something better. Something anyone can use without asking for help, and that a financial professional can use without feeling it lacks precision. That's the bar we set for every tool we build.

Smart Calculators is run by a data scientist with a background in the finance industry, and a long-standing passion for video games — an unusual combination that shapes which calculators get built and how carefully they're modeled. Neither side is an afterthought here.
Beyond that, a small multidisciplinary team contributes across the site's other categories, each bringing real experience from their own field rather than one person guessing across all of them. We'd rather stay small and cover fewer topics properly than pad the site with categories none of us understands.
